  • Must have a four-year degree
  • Consumer Goods Industry background preferred 
  • A minimum of seven years’ domestic and international purchasing experience in support of manufacturing  and distribution in a large organization.
  • International Purchasing experience must include both large vendors and small  vendors
  • Large ERP experience preferred

Other attributes:

  • A track record of success in a fast- paced manufacturing environment – with an emphasis on PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT in a purchasing organization
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Broad Logistics background
  • Change Management experience – products and process
  • Must be an excellent negotiator with both customers and vendors
  • Analysis skills – ability to manipulate large quantities of data
  • Expert in Microsoft EXCEL
  • SQL experience a plus
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Management of People – including a Purchasing group
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Proficiency in WMS systems – and their relationship to Inventory Control

You will:

  • Sustain and develop new VENDOR RELATIONSHIPS
  • Develop short and long-term purchasing policies to ensure products conform to customer and quality standards
  • Recommend policies and programs to provide the organization with a better competitive position and profitability
  • Establish Inventory and Purchasing standards
